Minds For Health is a distinguished organization based in Lewiston, Maine, dedicated to providing essential mental, behavioral, and disability services. Our primary focus is serving children ages 0-21 with diagnoses of intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as individuals grappling with mental health challenges. We specialize in offering in-home and community support services designed to promote the well-being and development of those we serve. Our programs are growing; we are currently looking for an outpatient therapist/clinical supervisor to join our team.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling with a concentration in clinical practice from an accredited graduate school.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible program management experience and staff supervision, including expertise in transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team member.
  • Proven experience in managing community outreach and demonstrated ability to generate revenues for clinical services.
  • Experience working with diverse clients with mental health challenges.
  • Experience and confidence in identifying, implementing, and monitoring the effectiveness of evidence-based practices.
  • Experience working in crisis settings with individuals and families.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Experience in program development, evaluation, organization management, and public speaking.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel, and customized databases.
  • Ability to work in and adapt to the professional environment of a multi-cultural, community-based social services agency.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding the Agency’s mission and culture and respects the mandate to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances and at all times.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to relate well with people from a variety of linguistic, socioeconomic, and cultural groups.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid Driver’s License with a clear driving record and proof of insurance.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Client Services

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of clients referred to our programs.
  • Develop an individual treatment plan based on assessment and reports and gathered information from the client, family, medical professionals, and other sources.
  • Provide individual and group counseling according to individualized treatment plans and in accordance with professional standards.
  • Make treatment and social service referrals to appropriate agencies that support client goals.
  • Create, maintain, and submit accurate records and documents on time.
  • Maintain current knowledge of assessment and treatment techniques, criminal justice systems, and community resources using in-service training, seminars, workshops, and publications.

Supervision and Support

  • Manage all members of clinical staff, including hiring and evaluating job performance.
  • Provide regular individual and group supervision to case managers.
  • Provide clinical supervision to non-licensed therapists and clinical interns.
  • Manage concerns relating to coverage, productivity, client service skills, and workload expectations.
  • Provide administrative support, supervision, and consultation to support and broaden staff skill levels.
  • Provide crisis support to therapists and clients as needed.
  • Supervise and oversee all aspects of the clinical department following the agency mission demonstrated by setting departmental goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate existing contract compliance, monitoring, and reporting to ensure all goals are being met.

Essential Functions

  • Represent Minds for Health in the community.
  • Develop, plan, and implement strategies to manage program growth and ensure self-funding and sustainability of the program. 
  • Regularly review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs with an emphasis on services for underserved populations. oversee program evaluations, and quality assurance functions for the department including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring treatment plans for clients.
  • Work with other management team members to ensure successful communication and coordination between all Minds for Health programs and participate in strategic planning.
  • Regularly provide clinical training to clinical services staff and interns.
  • Recruitment of clinical interns conduct outreach and maintain working relationships with graduate schools.
  • Must be reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work.
  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures of Minds for Health.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the CEO.
